Creasing
Mastering fold and dead-fold properties
Creasing in brief
Creasing rollers prevent two major problems arising when folding the inner liner around the bundle during the packing process: firstly, they allow the inner liner to be folded without harming the product; and secondly, they improve the dead-fold property of the inner liner, creating perfect top folds by breaking the natural memory effect paper has.
Creasing rollers consist of a patrix/matrix roller system containing a creasing profile. The angle, relief and radius of the creasing profile are adapted to the degree of calendering and grammage of the paper in use. To use this kind of roller, you need a suitable creasing head fitted on a packing line.
Advantages
Reducing damage due to excessive counter-pressures: Creasing rollers make it possible to reduce the counter-pressure needed to fold the inner liner around the bundle. The almost pressure-free folding procedure is a perfect way to avoid damaging pressure-sensitive products.
Improved production efficiency – reducing rejects due to folding defects: Folding with no or minimal counter-pressure means reducing rejects due to folding defects. Employing a creasing roller in fold areas helps to create folding conditions where the fold maintains its position over the entire packing process, therefore assuring an improved feeding workflow. As a result the packing quality and overall machine and production efficiency will greatly improve.
Running packing machines at their full potential: The physical properties of the inner liner greatly influence the line speed-quality ratio and in turn the overall efficiency of packing output. The use of creasing rollers allow you to run your machinery at its full potential.
Original Boegli technology: Creasing rollers feature original Boegli technology that is protected by international patents.
