Founded in 1955, we are a Swiss family-owned company, market leader in high-end embossing solutions that are worldwide implemented in diverse high-tech manufacturing environments. Through our cutting-edge and verticalized technological strengths, our highly skilled human resources, and our innovative mindset, we gathered over the decades an in-depth knowledge of complex matters related to the embossing of various types of materials. According to our mission “Success built on customer satisfaction”, we are driven by the one overarching goal to conceive and produce the engraving solutions that showcase the uniqueness of our clients’ products and brands.

1955 - 1970

Two engraving artists founded Boegli-Frères in Neuchâtel, Switzerland, specializing in watchmaking, stamp medals, and jewellery — blending beauty, precision, and technology. Their passion and skill laid the foundations of our company.

1970 - 1980

Diversification into printing dies for the tobacco industry marks a significant shift towards more industrial methods. In 1979, the company relocated to a site in Marin and transformed into Boegli Gravures.

1980 - 1990

The company registers its first patent on Pin-Up/Pin-Up embossing, and begins its international expansion into the tobacco industry. In 1988, the company is renamed Boegli-Gravures S.A. and continues to focus on innovation, under the leadership of Charles Boegli.

1990 - 2000

The Self-Aligning embossing head sets industry standards with several new patents. Technological advancements and international expansion solidify Boegli-Gravures as a key-player and OEM.

2000 - 2010

Continuous developments put forward greater precision and flexibility, like in Quick-Exchange embossing heads and multi-roller system, allowing our customer design and brand changes in minutes. First authentication features are integrated in our engraving solutions, enhancing product protection and consolidating our technological leadership in the tobacco market. We begin university R&D partnerships laying the foundations of our micro- and nano-engraving technologies.

2010 - 2020

Our Vividus Patrix/Matrix technologies enter the stage. This breakthrough enabled the embossing of white paper, thus significantly reducing environmental impact while maintaining exceptional quality and design standards. We reach a remarkable milestone in enhancing tipping-paper experience, both visually appealing and tactilely delightful, by the first integration of an embossing unit into an OEM inline tipping solution.

2020 - Today

We fully embrace the digital transformation and we create our new own digital ecosystem, unmatched in quality, in its offered digital services and client support, boosting the dynamism of our consulting services. First sales of our engraving solutions for new markets, like automotive (car interiors) and fashion (synthetic leather) are concluded, whereas powerful innovations in all our engraving technologies continue to open new opportunities, such as sustainable filters and authentication features.
